Scavenger Hunts: Not Just For Kids …

Think about the times in your youth when you took part in a scavenger hunt and how exciting it was when you followed the clues to the next answer.   Business owners are cashing in on this renewed excitement by including Scavenger Hunts as part of their marketing strategy.

Scavenger hunts are a fun way to bring customers in to your business and requires them to look for an item and scan it in to their smart phone.   Customers will be looking at your products; products they may have not thought to look for or sought out without following a scavenger hunt. These hunts make learning more about your business and products & services more enticing and rewarding.  How fun and since business owners and their employees are the best method of marketing, this gives them the opportunity to meet and greet them personally.

A typical business scavenger hunt utilizes the scanning of a QR Code through the use of a smart phone.  Business owners strategically place QR codes in desired areas provide clues or rewards for finding the code and the fun begins!  These scavenger hunts work great for local communities, malls, corporate team building and other retail stores trying to draw customers in to their business.

There are several companies who are extending the gamification trend by including Scavenger hunts for small businesses.  Geocoaching, SCVNGR and zebrareach are two companies that include or are planning on including scavenger hunts in their mobile apps that allow users to check in and complete tasks to earn points.  These digital apps allow businesses to configure these points and rewards.

Connecting fun methods like Scavenger Hunts are a fun way to grow your business  and get more customers talking about the positive experiences.
